How we work more sustainably — and how our guests help
Good social and environmental practices
Grand Ascot is a boutique hotel in the heart of Krakow, and our job is simply to be the best possible host of this place for our guests. We have 63 rooms and apartments, on-site parking, a sauna area and a fitness room.
Under the heading of CSR — corporate social responsibility — we aim for the highest standards not only in service, furnishings and amenities, but also in what we give back socially and environmentally. The hotel is pet-friendly, and since 2023 we have donated 20% of every pet fee to the Przytulisko animal foundation in Harbutowice, transferred quarterly. Step by step, we are introducing greener solutions wherever we can: growing our own herbs, running a Bike to Work scheme, and replacing single-use bottles with refillable glass ones filled from a water dispenser. We do much of this ourselves, but part of it depends on our guests — a few small choices during your stay really do add up.
Good Travel Seal
Grand Ascot Hotel holds the international Good Travel Seal certificate. We were awarded the Silver Medal, which recognizes our commitment to sustainable development.
The award reflects a steady effort to keep service standards high while looking after the environment and the local community. It means our guests can enjoy the hotel knowing it is run in line with the principles of sustainable tourism.
Two sheets are enough
We encourage guests to use fewer paper towels. Every publicly accessible dispenser carries a short reminder — two sheets are usually all it takes.
Cutting food waste
We introduced takeaway breakfast boxes for guests using the breakfast buffet. To reduce food waste, you can pack a second breakfast and some snacks to take with you, for a small additional charge.
Supporting a dog shelter
Since March 2023 we have donated 20% of every pet fee to the Przytulisko foundation in Harbutowice. The money is transferred quarterly to the foundation, which rescues and treats animals — mostly dogs.
Saving energy
We put real weight on environmental measures. The building runs on a BMS system that saves energy by managing light sensors and preset heating and lighting scenes, among other things.
Our sustainability policy
Our Sustainable Development Goals set the direction for the positive impact we want to have on the environment. The policy takes a comprehensive approach across three areas — environmental, social and governance (ESG). We want to leave future generations a world that is still worth living in.
