This breathtaking spot has been famous as one of the most beautiful places in the vicinity of Krakow for years, and in the current form, as a modernised swimming pool complex, it is bound to be one of the more attractive venues of the summer season. The inhabitants of Krakow love leisure over water, which is evident by the popularity of the Bagry Lake, and the new place will surely attract both the locals and the tourists craving to discover this unique place.<\/p>\n

What is so Captivating about the \u201cNew\u201d Zakrz\u00f3wek?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The possibilities of active recreation in the picturesque scenery is one of the biggest advantages of Zakrz\u00f3wek. The neighbouring streets are Tyniecka, Kapelanka, Norymberska and Grota-Roweckiego. You can easily get there by car \u2013 currently, there are available car parks at ul. Wy\u0142om and ul. Norymberska. Additionally, there is good access by buses and trams (stops Park \u201cSka\u0142y\u201d Twardowskiego, Kapelanka, Grota-Roweckiego, and Norymberska) or by bicycle \u2013 our city is famous for numerous bicycle routes.<\/p>\n

The Marvellous Zakrz\u00f3wek \u2013 a Bit of History<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The remainder of the old quarry in the form of Twardowski Rocks, lush nature and the fetching clear water of the 32-metre deep artificial lake in Zakrz\u00f3wek have always attracted walking enthusiasts, nature watchers, climbers, and divers. The captivating spot has become a habitat of many species of animals and insects, also rare and protected ones. The place was mentioned for the first time in 1238, and later, in the 19th<\/sup> century, it was included in the barracks area of the Krakow Fortress. Zakrz\u00f3wek is also mentioned in the legend of master Twardowski, who supposedly had his school of magic and wizardry in these cliffs (you can find more legends here<\/a>). Unfortunately, as is the case with such tales, this is not entirely correct, as in reality, Twardowski had his workshop in Krzemionki Podg\u00f3rskie (in the Podg\u00f3rze district).<\/p>\n
