Krakus Mound – the oldest mound in Krakow<\/h2>\n

The Krakus Mound is the oldest one in Krakow, and the largest prehistoric mound in Poland. Located 2.4km from Wawel, it has a height of 16 meters. Its great rank is evident by the fact that the windows of the Deputy’s Chamber in the Wawel Royal Castle actually face the mound, so when the ruling Polish kings were making important decisions, they could admire the view that reminded them of the multitude of merits of their predecessor. Pi\u0142sudski Mound is the newest and the largest of the mounds in Krakow. It is located on the Sowiniec hill in Las Wolski and commemorates another national hero – J\u00f3zef Pi\u0142sudski. Both the mound and its surroundings are a great place for recreation. Several walking routes marked out in Wolski Forest lead to it, and the most popular of them is the one next to the zoo in Krakow. The Pi\u0142sudski Mound has an amazing character – the slopes of Sowiniec are forested, so when climbing to the top, the panorama of the city gradually emerges over the green carpet of leaves and trees.
